Alice explains how women can find osteoporosis support groups in their area and join the cause to fight this condition.

Alice:
And if anyone is interested in osteoporosis, if they have it or family member or friend has it, you can try and find a support group by looking up the National Osteoporosis Foundation on the Internet. And then from there it will direct you to the state and then local communities that have support groups and with further information that will help you along the way.

You can help fight osteoporosis and help draw awareness to this silent disease by getting one of these magnets. Fight osteoporosis, a magnetic car ribbon magnet that you can put on your vehicle for people to see as they are driving down the road.

Many people do not even know what osteoporosis is but it might encourage them to go look on the Internet and see and learn and find out something that they can do to help prevent it for their own health. In fact it happens to men too. It does not discriminate.

I did a radio show yesterday and there was a gentleman who called in and said, “Now, men don’t get this,” and I said, “Yes, I am afraid they do.” Seventy nine percent of men who have an osteoporosis-related hip fracture will remain in assisted living for the rest of their lives and there’s a higher fatality rate for men, and one out of four men will have an osteoporosis-related fracture.

So if you want to help fight this disease and draw awareness to it you can get these magnets by going to the National Osteoporosis Foundation website, nof.org.
