Annette:

I didn’t feel less perfect because I don’t associate myself so much with my physical body as I once did, and maybe it’s age, and maybe it’s having been through lots of treatments and surgeries, but I realize that I am not my disease, and if it means that I will lose a part of my body in order to have a full life and continue to be a contributor to this world and to love the people that I love, that is an easy decision for me. So, I feel that an appendage is just clearly that, and the real me is inside of me.
