Keri describes how women can advocate for their health when considering fertility treatment options.

Keri:
They need to find out first and foremost what the issue of your fertility problem is and see if that could be treated or fixed and see if there are other options in doing so. In our case, we found out what the problem was. When we met with the fertility doctor, he told us that even if you fix the problem, it's still not going to help, but we went against what he said, and we tried to fix the problem and moved forward with that.

The other thing is do ask all of the questions about the different drugs that you are going to be taking, what your different options are, and do your own research. Don’t just rely on what they are telling you. Do research on the Internet and find out what’s best for you medically.

Also, you need to look at what it’s going to do to you emotionally. a lot of these drugs take you on a hormonal emotional roller coaster, how that’s going to be for you and how that’s going to be for your marriage, and I knew that I probably wasn’t the best person to be on hormonal drugs, and that it would just be not the best thing for me and for my marriage, so.
