Dr. Cook:

Well it can be overwhelming although most women that see us have already determined that they have a multiple pregnancy, not always, but most times, so the initial shock is already occurred in their endocrinologist’s office or their referral obstetrician’s office.

Then, when they see us, it’s mostly us trying to lay out a strategy or a plan without overwhelming them. But it can’t seem overwhelming to them so we usually set up multiple early initial contacts to sort of take it one step at a time and again, the early focus usually is on determining the type of twinning or how many there are that are present and then also determining risk for preterm delivery.
