I've been married for 4 yrs but 3 days ago my hubby starts having penile discharge. Where did we get the infection?

We have both been faithful throughout our marriage. But before I married him I had several boyfriends. Is it possible to have contracted an STD 5 yrs ago and only infect someone now? I've never been tested for STD before but I had an HIV test 5-6 yrs ago and it was negative. Is there a way to get infected even if you're monogamous? I'm my husband's first sexual contact.
