I've recently seen a doctor who requires a year-long commitment and payment of $2400 for pellet hormone therapy. This includes the pellets and insertion. She says the procedure is usually not covered by insurance. Blood tests are extra and covered by insurance. She says it varies but to expect the pellets to be replaced every 4 months, and usually sooner after the 1st insertion.
From what I've managed to find on the internet, this seems rather expensive to me, and i'm wondering what others have found in regard to the cost of this procedure (over the course of a year). Is this a reasonable price?
thanks for any information,
NJ
