A new research report will be published in August in the American Academy of Pediatrics journal, "Pediatrics" about the effects of air pollution on fetal development and how it detrimentally impacts the IQ of children. There's an article about it written by neuroscientist Dan Agin in today's Huffington Post. I found the most telling part of the article to be the very last sentence: "With so much talk about 'saving the unborn' it's a pity some of that social energy isn't applied to the problem of pollution of the fetal environment. It's a problem that needs public attention." So true.
