Briefly, I have chronic fatigue syndrome and lyme disease. I've been treated for the last 5
years by an alternative health doctor. Actually, I saw about 3 different doctors before that.
I was lucky to be diagnosed because before 2004 I went from one doctor to another not knowing
why I had many unexplained symptoms. Some referred me to therapy ..for depression, others
sent me to specialists, things like this.
Now, I have more energy to be active. I see my life holistically. I'm paying attention to
my lifestyle...how I think, what I eat, and connections with family and friends...also..
being involved in activities which give meaning to my life. The whole enchilada as they say.
Along the way, I've read Dr. Eric Teitelbaum's book..."From Fatigued to Fantastic..".I
buy his vitamins and supplements and find they help me. I've been treated for
hypothyroidism with armour and that's made a big difference. The same for adrenal
exhaustion. I take cortef. That's turned things around. I also recommend the book
by Julia Ross "Mood Cure' her books have valuable information about hormonal balances
in woman and amino acids and enzymes. Being low in saratonin and having treatment
for that...CoQ10 has made a difference.
I also recommend seeing the movie "UNder Our Skin" if you want to gain an
education about lyme disease or if you think you may have it.
That's a whole other topic...but many treatments are available. It's important to find
a lyme literate doctor and that may take some research and funds depending upon where
you live.
I love to do art and be creative. I spend time with relatives and children...and travel
when I can, though that's been the most challenging part because it breaks the routine
I have set up. Still, I feel sharing our experiences with one another also empowers me.
I'm glad to have found this website. I had some questions about new research and they
were answered here. I can see many people are dedicated to making our lives
better and I'm glad to be a part of that.
