There is SO much in the news about the law of attraction. Going into my latest surgery, we did not know if it could be done vaginally or not. There is a BIG difference in recovery if the abdominal muscles are cut—or not.
The surgeon said he would try to do it vaginally but have me prepped for an abdominal cut if that’s what they needed to do once they got in there. He had no way of knowing. Another doctor friend told me not to count on it—it was likely that they would want to explore around, as during the last surgery, a year ago, they found other nodules that knarled the intestines.
My recovery a year ago was LONG and almost never-ending. Besides taking out part of my intestines, they had problems with the anesthesia and I got pneumonia. So it was quite a battle. After having a pulmonary embolism six weeks ago and going through all that trauma and recovery, too, I was really not looking forward to surgery recovery yet AGAIN.
As my friends said, “we’ll hope and pray that the surgery can be done vaginally” I was pretty pessimistic. I even asked myself why I was being that way, as it’s just not like me.
Well, the EUPHORIA I felt in the recovery room when I woke up and they told me it had been done vaginally….and I had no pain….and I was very clear-headed from the anesthesia….I was insisting (well, trying to) on a champagne celebration—right then and there.
I thought back to my pessimism and I realized that in advance I had to prepare myself emotionally. I couldn’t hope for the best, and then find out the surgery wasn’t vaginal and I would have a tougher recovery. That would have been SUCH A LETDOWN and way too devastating.
The “surprise” and euphoria at the exciting news that the surgery was the most minimally invasive possible was the way to go.
But if all of this is true—what’s that have to say about the law of attraction???
