We might as well admit it. If something is labeled organic, we're liable to eat too much of it. So says Brian Wansink, a Cornell professor who has written two books related to this subject. We are great at rationalizing, especially where food is concerned.
If it's supposed to be good for us, that seems to be our ticket to indulge. If some is healthy, more must be better, right?
Wrong. It's still possible to overdo it even on wholesome foods. So it's still important to read food labels and know what we're getting, and how much of it.
"I think the message from this study is that we are all responsible for our own health. We all need to pay attention to food labels even if we consider the food to be 'healthy'. Too many calories leads to excess weight so be careful not to overeat, even if those cookies are organic!"
