Dr. Michael O'Leary and Dr. Ian Purcell had a patient with vertigo. She had bilateral crystals in her inner ears that were causing problems. These bilateral crystals were moving and hitting little hair cells in the inner ear, so though her brain knew she wasn't moving, it was receiving messages that said otherwise. Hence, vertigo.
