Cardiologists like Dr. Suzanne Sorof like to use an electrocardiagram (EKG) to determine whether or not there are any problems with your bloodstream and your heart. It takes a picture of the electrical system. If your EKG shows any irregularities a cardiologist can perform other tests.
An ultrasound helps to study the various sections of your heart. A stress test indicates whether the electrical system is faulty.
