I broke a tooth over the weekend and was in pain, but went to work Monday anyway. I had to leave 2 hours later because I was so sick @ my stomach and my temp went to 103. My tooth hurt, but my stomach was my real concern. I thought I had the flu. When I woke up Tuesday, my eye was swollen closed, and I was having problems breathing out of the left nostril. When I tried to open my mouth to see what was going on with my tooth pain, I could hardly get it open. I went straight to the dentist and he found that the broken tooth was already impacted and that it could have caused serious if not deadly results. Needless to say, he pulled the tooth (with great difficulty), packed the cavity with antibiotic gauge and I had to go back that afternoon & have it re-dressed. He said that I could have died if this was not treated.
