As I have Alzheimer's disease, I need to take an Ashwagandha herbal extract because it cured one specific short-term memory problem until I discovered that it lowers the cortisol level which is destructive for me as I have Addison's disease. Pregnenolone raises the cortisol level. Could it raise it enough in order to cancel out the cortisol loss from Ashwagandha use?
The second question involves the dose of pregnenolone in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. I know that pregnenolone is good for memory loss as many years ago when I had a different memory problem, it cured the problem according to subsequent memory tests. I've read that for AD it's possible take a dose of 300 mg. or 500 mg./day, but I just can't remember where I read this and I was stupid not to make a note of it. Do you know anything about this and the possible side effects at such a high dose of pregnenolone?
I should be very grateful for your assistance as I'm in a terrible Catch-22.
