I was diagnosed with hypothyroidsm when I was 12 when a goiter appeared. I am now 44. Up until about 4 years ago my thyroid levels were easily regulated with minor adjustments for pregnancy with my doses betwenn .175 mg and .150 mg of levothyroxine. About four years ago I became increasingly symptomatic, fatique, heavy mentral bleed, mental confusion, hair loss etc...my doctor increaded my dosage, then decreased it, then sent me to an endocrinologist who increased it, then decrease it, then within six months my doctor increased it again and added liothyronine 12.5 mcg. This seemed to be the answer until just recently when slowly but surely I became symptomatic again! In the last for years I've been on .15, .175, .2, .075, .15, and now I'm back to .075. with no liothyronine. I'm being cynical but it seems like I'm starting over in a vicious cycle...up,down, up. down, up, down... I've been on both synthroid and levothyroxine and both produce the same results...unregulated levels. It's getting expensive and the symptoms are not pleasant. I KNOW without even doing the blood work, that in six month my thyroid levels will be low. I take it the same time every morning, do not take iron or calcium with it and even avoid the forbiden hyprothyroid foods, "cabbage, raw broccoli, soy...etc." Help! T
