How common is bilateral Invasive Ductal Carcinoma at the same time?

I was diagnosed 2-24-11 with IDC in my right breast and now have been diagnosed with it in my left breast. I will be undergoing a double masectomy on April 21st and have been having bone scans and CT scans and such and I am really worried about the outcome.
