My husband had lots of clots, too many to count in both his lungs, he is home now and a nurse visits to administer his injections and advises how much warfarin tablet to take in the evening. Its only been a week and he is wanting to resume sex, but I am worried, the nurse said that he should leave it for a few weeks until his blood tests are stable and not to overtax his heart. His symptoms were a swollen foot, side chest pain, and pain on breathing and blood stained phlegm on admission to hospital. His heart rate was elevated and blood pressure too. They did CT scan and blood tests and it confirmed PE. Six years ago he had a DVT. This time they want him to stay on anticoagulants for the rest of his life. He also gave up smoking six weeks ago and takes Champix. His cholestorol is a little high and high blood pressure is hereditary in his family. I am still hesitant to resume sex until I have heard from his doctor that it is ok. Thats not until next wednesday so I found your site and thought it would put my mind at rest getting another opinion on this matter. Thankyou for your time.
