HISTORY: Hello I'm a 20 year old mother of a 2 year old who was delivered vaginally. I breast fed for about 5 days but had trouble with it so switched to the bottle. I am currently on nuvaring and have been for the past few months. My last menstrual cycle was Sept 23rd 2011. I was diagnosed with Fibrocystic Breast Disease earlier today due to a painful knot in my left breast. My perdiods have always been regular.
CURRENT CONDITION: Every now and again, maybe 3-5 times a year since I was about, oh idk - perhaps 16, I've had this odd very uncomfortable pain. It feels like a stabbing, or needle like pain underneath my right nipple. There is no burning, no heat, nothing like that. There is no correlation around or near my period. It happens for a few minutes, just sort of throbs off and on and then dissapears for a few months. It feels like it is directly under my nipple hole *that sounds weird sorry about that*. I've found other threads in here but most of them have burning pain and there is nothing burning about this. Anyways, is this something that I should ask my PCP about? My apt this morning was to get breast cancer ruled out, but the dr. thought I was too young for a mammogram or a biopsy. He just told me to stop drinkin caffein and maybe take some vitamin E. If it feels like it is getting worse then make another appointment to see him.
Any information on my odd needle under my nipple pain would be most appreciated! Thanks, Jen.
