Do women experience more discomfort with there cycle the older they get?

I am 48 years old and in the past year my cycle is just uncomfortable. I have been fortunate to have mild cycles with little discomfort and mood change. In the past year the cramps, back pain and overall achiness is increased. My mood is a bit more impacted and the 2nd day of the cycle is the most uncomfortable. The flow is heaviest and more clots on the 2nd day. Thanks!
