What are the risks of brast cancer and the mini pill

I've been advised againt the pill because I lost my mom to breast cancer a few years ago so I mention to my friend today about nt bein able to take it and she mentioned the mini pill instead because she also has family background of breast cancer. Can you give me any advice??
