It looks like my abdomen is getting bigger, and I'm nauseous most of the day with headaches, but I've had my period every month (most recently the first week of November) and I've never had intercourse. If any sperm got near my privates, it was dried and at least an hour after I touched it...and the latest that would have happened prior to taking my BC pills was around early to mid-September, I believe. I've been taking birth control for a month now (since October 9th), but I've been nauseous since late August. My headaches have been since last year. I took pregnancy tests in early and late September and they both came out negative.
I'll be honest. I don't exercise other than walking from class to class, and I don't eat properly because the food my parents buy isn't healthy and I don't eat lunch. (I'm 18, and I still live at home.) The weird part is that I've lost three pounds in the past month rather than gained. I'm 5'8" and 174 lbs...so my BMI is around 26-27. But every time I look down now, it looks like the lower part of my tummy below the belly button is jutting out more than the last time I looked down. My clothes still fit, but some things seem a bit tighter (could have just shrunk in the dryer, I know...). It's obvious I'm overweight, but what would explain the weird movement of my weight toward my abdomen? Could it be pregnancy, or am I just paranoid and in need of exercise? My doctor also prescribed Zantac yesterday to help with my nausea, and he said just not to think about being nauseous and to block it from my mind. I've been stressed since school started (got my first real boyfriend who doesn't go to my school, filling out college applications and scholarships, dual enrollment, tons of homework...), so I understand the headaches are likely a result of all those things...but I don't understand if the nausea and weight changes are related to these stresses and hormones as well. Is that possible?
Is there an explanation for the sickness and the weird weight distribution? If I change my diet and exercise, will my body go back to how it looked before (granted this isn't pregnancy)? Is it even possible to be pregnant when I've gotten my period every month? (My mother says it's very common for women to get their periods regularly when pregnant...but I thought it was next to impossible since missing a period or extremely light bleeding around that time is a sign of pregnancy. Is she wrong or right?)
Thank you for your time!
