If I were to take a pregnancy test on the 3rd day of my period, will it tell me if I were pregnant, and I believe that I have had a miscarriage?

My period starts out light, and 2 days ago, it started dark, and I saw tissue...I recently had a early miscarriage in 05/11, so this concerns me..I didn't know that I was pregnant then, and possibly maybe now,AND LOSING MY BABY AGAIN.
