I'm 46 and it's been 13 days since my period started and it won't stop. It started on the 2nd this month, with a few spots, then became abundant from the 5th til the 7th. On the morning of the 11th it seemed to stop and then in the evening it seemed to came back, but just went on spotting. The same thing happened to me in the last cycle, with the menstruation starting on October 23rd. I have had a urinary infection in September and followed an antibiotic treatment for it but no other pain beside the one during urination.
Could these irregularities be due to menopause, the antibiotics or should I expect something worse? During 2009 I have had a weird pain in my lower abdominal and have been to several doctors to figure out where it came from. One gynecologist told me I had an abnormally large uterus (fibromatous), but biopsy showed nothing malignant, while a back doctor told me I had a lower back problem that's causing the pain. However, the pain went away after several treatments for a severe urinary infection so I'm very hesitant in going back to lousy doctors.
