Hi, I'm 28 years old and almost all my life I've been very intolerant to the cold and recently I see I can't really handle it any longer. I'm afraid it become some kind of problem for me after awhile. I have been to an endocrinologist awhile ago not only for the reason of being intolerant to the cold weather but for reasons of hair loss, dry skin, fibrocystic breasts, brittle nails, and feeling tired during the day. I had blood test done by the endocrinologist for many reasons and told me everything is normal.
Even though everything is normal I did not get solution to these problems. I spoke to a certain doctor and I'm waiting to hear from him, he gave me a bunch of different information about how thyroid and Iodine are important and said to me it is highly possible that I'm defficient in Iodine.
I'm thinking of seeing my endocrinologist again about telling her what this doctor told me about thyroid and Iodine and I want to tell her something useful to understand my situation. I really can't handle this cold feeling, I feel worse and I feel like I'm losing it. I really don't know what to do like this.
I want to know do you think it is best that I tell my endocrinologist to do testing for Iodine? I purchased something called kelp which is Iodine in 150 mcg I really want to take it but I first want to be sure about how much and how often I should take. Do you think these are best that I mention to my doctor? Please let me know soon.
Thank You,
Melissa
