I just learned that after many mammograms from having ductal carcinoma in situ, that each mammo may have radiation 500 times the strength of a normal xray. This is very disturbing to me. Then I find out that thermography is a more acurate, can detect cancer earlier, and is a safer method of detecting breast cancer. I could have even done without the very painful torturous sterotactic biopsy had I done the thermography that shows early development created by vessels forming due to cancer growing. I also had to research myself about hormone receptors in my cells. Which I had to ask oncologist additionally for more analysis to my results to find out YES I did have them. When I asked why this ERPR check is not an automatic procedure, the response was, "It costs more." Well now, at least tell me and give me that option. Since I did have ERPR in the cancer cells, tamoxifen was perscribed to block those hormones that fed the cancer. THIS SHOULD BE STANDARD! And what they call standard procedure is 6 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week after my lumpectomy? I had no lump, as this was micro stage cancer. That is insane. The medical industry is WAY OFF BASE here.
