I propose that women live longer because they wear lipstick. They wear Chapstick also more than men. This is an unproven theory, just my own hypothesis that I will defend lightly.
Lipstick has already been heralded as an economic indictor for a recession. Women will buy a lipstick, a relatively inexpensive luxury when the economy is poor. When the economy is doing well lipstick sales also do well. Bottom line is women like to wear lipstick. We like the ease of application, the way it brightens our face and the allure of femininity and sexiness.
If you think of how many years you have been wearing lipstick and multiply that by how times per day you re-apply it and throw in putting on Chapstick/lip moisturizer before bed, that adds up to be an amazing amount of time! I propose that the time, the few moments needed to apply and reapply relieve some stress. Could the glycerin, or paraffin or whatever ingredient is in the stuff once absorbed coat the arteries in a positive way?
The case could be made that women who use lipstick care about how they look and take better care of themselves. If you take better care of yourself you may subscribe to a healthier lifestyle in diet and exercise.
What about the woman who does not wear lipstick? My recommendation is she should start! I think lipstick could be the elixir to a long life!
