I've been "sick" with the following symptoms for the past month and a half:
-gas
-bloating
-constipation
-"lump in throat"
-fatigue
-Unexplained red marks on skin, almost like a rash (that would fade)
These symptoms started during a relatively low level of stress in my life (I'm in a doctoral program), and my doctor suggested I come in for bloodwork to test for gluten intolerance and allergy.
This weekend (until yesterday) I ate gluten free and felt great. By accident I ate Tofurkey and some "beef" strips for lunch and dinner respectively. I didn't know most veggie meat subtitutes had wheat/ gluten in them. Last night and today I felt awful- I was gassy all day and extremely tired.
Today I've gone back to all gluten free and am planning on getting the bloodwork soon (as other bloodwork ruled out bacteria and pH concerns).
Have I developed a gluten intolerance, or is this more like an allergy? Any advice would be appreciated!
