It took some years of trial & error for my doctor & I to find effective medication (opioids) for my chronic pain. This is in fact the ONLY effective treatment for me, allowing me to function at some level as I continue to work (running 2 businesses alone).
I am 39, single and live alone. I suffer from chronic pain, apparently a result of ME/CFIDS.
My Doctor has suddenly started treating me with a complete lack of respect or dignity for no apparent reason ~ we have previously had a very good relationship I feel.
Clearly something has triggered this behaviour from her but I've no idea what it is. She claims recent data shows the drug (fentanyl) is killing people at an alarming rate. When i said i should come off it & switch to an alternative however she did not agree do it felt like a smokescreen!
My intention is to self-withdraw from all the opiate-based drugs 'cold-turkey' I am prescribed with a start date to be fixed for the next few weeks.
I would prefer to suffer on without pain relief than be treated that way or to have the meds withdrawn from me on the whim of one person without consultation or notice. These meds have also been overdue by the time they are issued recently. Again, this was never an issue before
