At the Get in Rhythm, Stay in Rhythm Atrial Fibrillation Patient Conference, Dr. Robert Kowal and Mellanie True Hills tag-teamed to help patients understand how to communicate with their doctors and how to live with afib.
Dr. Kowal first discussed getting the most from your doctor, including who to see and when to see them.
Mellanie True Hills then talked about communicating with doctors as well as living with afib. She discussed such diverse topics as what caregivers should know, frequently overlooked relationships with afib, such as sleep apnea and autoimmune diseases including celiac disease/gluten intolerance, psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis, and common issues such as alcohol, caffeine, dehydration, air pollution and chemicals, stress, exercise, and diet and supplements.
