If you are a woman, change is an inevitable part of your life. So many of us look back and realise that an old passport photo doesn’t even resemble a person we now see in the mirror.
We love transformation in our looks and our wardrobes. Long hair, fringe or highlights? It doesn’t really matter as long as we have something different every now and then.
But every time you change your hair colour you need to remember about all the adjustments that have to be made.
Update Your Make-up
When you first change your hair colour, start experimenting with different make-up options. If you were a brunette for most of your days, you might be used to wearing very dark shades. Going lighter means you need to choose more delicate colours and use less eyeliner. This way your make-up won’t become too heavy and overwhelming.
Alternatively, when going from light to dark you should reconsider the right blush for your new look. Darker hair needs more defined lines and contouring.
The same applies to foundation and lipstick tone. If you suddenly decide you want to go from blonde to red, your favourite pink lip gloss will have to wait for another season. There are certain colours that simply don’t match and determining what suits you best will be a very important part of your new image.
Say No to Certain Clothes
If you went through a major hair colour transformation you will probably have to check items in your wardrobe and decide on new outfits.
Wardrobe cleanout can also be a lot of fun. You will have a chance to find clothes that you completely forgot about. You might even see a great pair of jeans that still fit you well.
The best way to find perfect outfits is to take all the clothes out of your wardrobe and arrange similar colours separately.
This will help you not only to find right shades but also mix and match different garments.
Brunettes-
A lot depends on your skin tone but in general all brunettes look good in various shades of brown, green, red and beige. A white dress with the proper make-up will also look stunning. If you want something that stands out, go for deep colours like blue or dark pink.
Blondes-
If you have lighter hair and skin, choose something that will enhance your features and won’t make you look flat. Blondes can wear all bright colours including orange, yellow, blue or pink. Avoid any pastel tones as they may wash you out.
If you’re looking for something more sophisticated choose a classic black or deep purple colour to add more character to your outfit. Don’t be scared to team various tones together and find original combinations.
Redheads-
This colour probably involves more changes than the others. To highlight your new hairstyle choose a variety of warm colours including brown, orange, green and burgundy. This way you will achieve a more distinguished look that doesn’t seem plain or dull.
Transformations bring a lot of opportunities to find the perfect style and your own voice in fashion. Sometimes even the smallest change can have a great impact on your confidence and self-esteem.
