1) Greece
Rinse your hair with rosemary water for shiny, soft hair. The technique used in Greece is to boil the rosemary water and strain out the rosemary.
2) Turkey
Use daisy water as a way to boost highlights in your hair. Boil one cup of daisies in approximately two cups water, remove the daisies, and pour the water over your hair and let it air dry.
3) India
Women from India have been using kajal as eyeliner for centuries. It is a homemade blend of ashes mixed with oils such as almond oil. According to Sumitra Batra, co-author of "The Art of Mehndi," kajal was historically applied around the eyes along the inner eye rims to deflect sun glare in the desert.
4) Mexico
Ladies, there is an innovative way to curl your eyelashes: use a teaspoon. Brenda Legorreta, former editor of Women’s Health Mexico, describes the method.
Hold the spoon horizontally in one hand so it is cupping your eyelid. The edge of the spoon should be touching the roots of your upper lash line. Use the thumb of the same hand to gently press your eyelashes upward against the back of the spoon. Then, slowly push the edge up towards the ends of your lashes and apply mascara.
5) France
Use lemon juice to remove stains on your nails. This is especially useful for those of us from certain cultures that eat with their hands (hello, turmeric stains from Indian food, on my expensive French manicure). As the French do, simply soak your fingers in lemon juice for 10 minutes.
6) Australia
Australians use yarrow root, which is known for its anti-inflammatory compounds, to smooth stretch marks.
7) Africa
Shea butter is derived from the nuts of the karité tree, found in the savannah region across West Africa. Shea butter is used to soften the skin.
8) Israel
Mud from the Dead Sea is used as a cleansing mask for the face and body.
9) Brazil
The innovative method of taking an oatmeal-infused bath for its anti-inflammatory effects is from Brazil.
