I am a 43 year old female, about 20lbs overweight. I am normally moderately active. I am on a chronic pain medication regimen due to chronic shoulder dislocation. I have been diagnosed with Elyers-Danyos Syndrome (hypermobility type) other than that,I am basically healthy.
Over the weekend...Friday night I started having trouble with my legs,I found it difficult to bend my knees and ankles to get up and down the staircase.I went to bed with a lot of pain in legs. I took one Percocet and that seemed to lessen the pain so I could sleep. Saturday, as I stepped onto the floor from my bed I knew it was going to be a long day. My entire body was aching. Any movement of any sort made me think of the muscles and joints that we being used. I noticed at this point my feet were swollen. By late Saturday afternoon each and every movement caused a groan to escape my throat. It felt as if all of the muscles in my body had been shortened by two inches. Saturday evening my hands and fingers were swollen. I ended up taking pain medication every 4-6 hours and that did help; however, it was still very bad. Sunday was about the same. Monday morning when I woke up,I decided to bend my legs to evaluate the pain BEFORE getting out of the bed. It seemed like it was getting better. Two hours later, I decided to go back to bed . Moving in the bed even hurts. It is now Tuesday, I still an swollen (hands, feet and even my legs) but not as bad. When walking, it still feels like every muscle in my entire body has constricted at least an inch. If I'm lying still, there is no pain except for the tightness from the swelling. It only hurts to resituate myself.I have developed a small chest cold it seems. I have no fever nor any rashes. My normal Dr cannot see me until next week. Any ideas?
