I recently had the opportunity to attend a wonderful event called the LiveHealth® Online Summit: Women Connect to Health in New York City.
Sponsored by LiveHealth Online and EmpowHER, the survey whose results were revealed at the event, focused on “Moms and Health Technology.”
The event featured some great speakers including Melissa Joan Hart, an actress and mother of three, Michelle King Robson, founder of EmpowHER, Dr. Mia Finkelston, Medical Director of the Online Care Group of physicians who see patients through LiveHealth Online, and Sarah Haflett, Director of the PwC Health Research Institute.
The speakers came from a variety of health-related backgrounds, and discussed advancements in health care technologies and how moms can use technology tools to manage both their personal health and the health of their families.

Seventy-nine percent of moms surveyed said that they’re interested in trying or learning more about telemedicine to help themselves and their families when faced with a non-emergency medical issue. All survey participants said that they are interested in having 24/7 access to doctors and other health care offerings.
A little more than half of those surveyed said that online video doctor visits would make them more confident about attending to their family’s health — or that it would be like having a health security blanket. And 61 percent of women surveyed believe that health tech innovations will result in their kids being healthier.
