I am 20 yrs old and last year I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries syndrome. My period has always been 5-6 days long (with 1-2 more days of spotting), and my cycle's length varies because of the PCOS but it's average length is 31 days.
Last month my period was 4 days long (with a few extra days of spotting), and this month it was 4 days long as well plus 1 more spotting day.
I have always had a heavy flow but this month it was really heavy the first day (as usual), somewhat heavy the second one, the third one was a normal flow and the last one was light. I usually have really heavy flow the first three days so this was very unsual. My period cramps this month were extremely painful on the first day of my period and my last cycle lasted 35 days (this usually happens but I had been having very "normal" cycles for the past 6 months (28-32 days))
I don't know if this is normal. I've heard women's period's length varies through life, but I don't know If it's related to the PCOS.
I am sure that I had a period and not just spotting because, like I said, the first day my flow was very heavy.
My gynecologist is in another country, my annual visit was due in June but I don't know if I should seek a doctor where I'm currently living to get checked or if it's normal. Doctors here are pretty expensive so that's why I'm hesitating.
Extra info: i'm not on birth control or any sort of treatment for the PCOS because despite of the variations in my cycles length, except for a few months in my life, they have always been in the "normal" range.
