Please help as i dont know if its a period or spotting!

Hi i was wondering if its normal to have a period for 8 hours as i had sex with my boyfriend on monday the day before i went to have my implant out and i was just wondering what i could be as i thought it could have been the start of my period but it was lighter than what my normal periods are
