It's in just about every woman's bag... lip gloss. It might look great, but don't be fooled into thinking it protects your lips from the sun. Actually, some experts feel it may increase your risk skin cancer.
Millions of women use lip gloss. A tube can cost as much as twenty dollars. One survey says Americans spend 20-million on the shiny products. But some experts are saying lip gloss may actually increase your risk of lip cancer, seen here on the lower lip, because shine doesn't repel the sun, it actually attracts it. Dr. Simon Ourian says, "And they're made of what -- oil, to make it glossy and you're putting oil on top of your lips, going in the sun, doing your business and your lips are basically sizzling under the sun and that's a great environment for cancer cells to grow."
