Patient coordinator Amelia Barcenas explains how bariatric patients are allowed to call her when questions and concerns arise.

Amelia:
Well, patients call me at the middle of the night when they are in Paris, out of town, you know, they ask me questions like, “What do I do? What’s my next diet? Am I okay on this? Will I be able to walk around?” And one patient, when he was hiking, going up to Yellowstone and he was calling us, it was I think maybe like 5:00 p.m., just for us to know that he was able to do that because of a wonderful surgery we have given this patient and that makes me feel so good that this patient, even though after 5 years of post op, still remembered to call me and tell me, “Hey, I am happy and I am right here; my goal – I have met.”
