Susan describes if befriending other women with arthritis is beneficial.

Susan:
I think it is helpful to have others that are your peers that know people who have arthritis and what they are going through. You can feel kind of alone if you don’t talk to other people who are going through it. As a kid, my older sister used to tell me, “Oh, you will feel much better if you don’t dwell on the pain and you have a positive attitude.” And she was right on point, but I resented hearing it from someone who didn’t have the pain and, you know, now I am running into a lot more people that are going through it, and I realize I am not alone and it’s not as bad as I had thought it, when I originally was diagnosed.
