After running across a very interesting blog not long ago called No Sex and The City, I wondered if dating in 2014 was any different than it was in the 90’s. Over the years we have had great shows such as Sex and The City, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Living Single, Seinfeld and a few other cool shows which covered dating NYC and each were different in their own way. The jokes were always funny, and the audience fell in love with the characters, but did we really learn anything we didn't already know?

The reason the blog fascinated me was because it was honest and thoughtful at the same time. This was indeed a very different way to talk about dating experiences currently.
The No Sex and the City Blog is written by Genesis Tolentino. This Blog is funny, but it is also about a young woman's dating experiences in New York. From the title, you may think the blog is about how hard it is to find a suitable partner or how to avoid getting STDs in this very sexually focused Metropolis called New York City, but it isn't. Well it is and it isn't.
The No Sex and the City blog is about one young woman's experience living, working and dating and in the Big Apple, however there is one thing she has to deal with that may be a little difference that most. The difference is that that she is a virgin, and although it was a decision she made that was very personal, the stories of her dating life can be helpful to others.

She is the first to admit that she never created this blog to condemn others for their choices or to appear superior. The blog is written really just to share with others in her own voice and is used to empower others while dating. The blog is chock full of funny little nuggets along with a little heartbreak, but instead of getting bitter about the ups and downs of dating, Genesis decided to create something interesting for others to enjoy.

In her own words, "Hey all! First of all, I will quickly tell you about myself and this blog. I started this blog a couple years ago when I realized just how difficult it was to date in New York City. Even more difficult being a virgin. Yes, I said VIRGIN."
Her admission to something so personal is sure to help others make better decisions in love and possible helps them avoid sexually transmitted diseases. Also, her story could inspire others to remain strong in their convictions to wait a little longer to become sexually active.

Although it appears that this young lady is still figuring life out, she has a clear vision of where she wants to go and wants to share with her others. For more information, check out her blog at No Sex and The City.
