The world is full of both statistics and sex. So it makes sense that sex researchers have numerous sex statistics coming out of the bedroom.

It’s always interesting to take a peek ...

According to LiveScience.com, the average male loses his virginity at age 16.9; females average slightly older, at 17.4.

Women have an average of four sex partners during their lifetime while men have an average of seven, reported LiveScience.com.

RealBuzz.com added that a Cosmopolitan survey found 66 percent of people are content with their number, while 22 percent wish they’d slept with less people and 12 percent would have liked to have slept with more.

WomensDay.com wrote the average person has sex 103 times a year.

RealBuzz.com said a Durex survey showed that 67 percent of adults have sex once a week and only 8 percent have it once a day or more.

An average couple spends 20 minutes on foreplay, wrote WomensDay.com.

RealBuzz.com said that average sex sessions last between three and 13 minutes. But according to a survey by Cosmopolitan, 50.4 percent of men want sex to last for 30 minutes, while 25.5 percent want sex for 15 minutes.

While 75 percent of men always reach orgasm during sex, only 29 percent of women report the same, said LiveScience.com.

RealBuzz.com said this may be because, according to a Durex survey, around 75 percent of women never reach orgasm from sexual intercourse alone and 10 to 15 percent never climax.

Forty-eight percent of women say they’ve faked an orgasm at least once, reported WomensDay.com.

RealBuzz.com said that a Cosmopolitan survey showed 30 percent of women fake orgasm because they don't want to upset their partner.

The average person burns 200 calories during 30 minutes of sexual intercourse, said WomensDay.com.

LiveScience.com said that in the United States, the average erect penis is five to seven inches long, and four to six inches in circumference.

The idea that men think about sex every seven seconds doesn't bear up against scrutiny, wrote Psychology Today.

According to the Kinsey Report, 54 percent of men think about sex every day or several times a day, 43 percent a few times a week or a few times a month, and 4 percent less than once a month.

Eighty-four percent of women said that they have sex to get their man to help out around the house, and 20 percent of Americans have had sex with a co-worker, according to WomensDay.com.

RealBuzz.com wrote that only 58 percent of people are comfortable telling their lover exactly what they want in bed. In the United States, said WomensDay.com, 48 percent of people report being satisfied with their sex life.

If there’s anything to take from sex statistics, say sex researchers, is that regardless of where you may fit in any of these statistics, you’re normal.
