Finding a Doctor Who Can Help: First Talk to Other Women

Rate This

We are hearing from more and more women concerning female sexual health problems. They tell us which doctors and other professionals have been helpful and who has not. Some have paid large sums of money for care out-of-pocket (several thousand dollars) and were very disappointed. It is not unusual that insurance will not cover these services and women will pay cash.

We would love to hear from more of you. Either write us at [email protected] or post on the board what has worked for you and your particular problem.

What we are also hearing is that women are not as satisfied with some of the care they have received. They wished they had spoken with other women first. Opinions from doctors is one step we can take as women, but conversations with other women may be even better. Women often know the inside scoop, which can help so many other women. There’s a world of help out there, and it’s not always to be found in the doctor’s office.

Be Well,

Word of mouth is a great way of finding out what doctors are the best in your area! When my children were young and I was searching for a doctor who would listen to me and was good with children, I went to my local park and chatted with other mums. Listening to their experiences with local doctors I was able to find the one that suited us.
