17 beta-estrodiol is the bio-identical hormone that the woman releases from the ovary and adrenal glands. Bio-identical is a word we use when the administration of the hormone back to the woman is the same kind of hormone that the woman makes in her body. They are the opposite of a bio-identical hormone would be a synthetic artificial hormone which has similar actions but isn’t the exact same hormone in a woman’s body.
