How Does Pollution Affect My Skin? - Dr. Butterwick (VIDEO)

Dr. Butterwick:

Well air pollution is just one of the many environmental hazards on our skin so it makes it less clean and is introducing some more damaging chemicals to the skin, but if you ask me what is the most damaging thing to my skin, it is sun damage. It is sun exposure. Sun is your number one problem, so if you do nothing else for your skin, you want to be sure to use a really good sunscreen, and not just in the summer. You want to use one every single day all year round even at 8 in the morning if you are out for a walk. So it is very important: the number one thing to protect yourself against is sun damage.
