Peggy:

I am a happier person. The other positive to this is, I used to have to rest twice to three times walking from the parking lot where I work, to get into work. I had been using a walker or a cane and now I can walk into work on my own without a walker or without a cane because I can breathe, and I can breathe without resting. So it’s been a wonderful change in my life.

Now I have more control and I don’t have people feeling sorry for me. It’s not nice when people just look at you with pity when you want to continue working, and you are not the young nurse that’s coming in. You are one of the older nurses who is still working and people wonder why you are not retiring, and I don’t want to retire. I like my job. I like what I do and I think I am good at it, so I don’t want to quit. I want to continue.
