Dr. Harner:

Hi, I am Dr. Christopher Harner from the University of Pittsburgh and I am orthopedic sports medicine specialist.

Well, the MCL is one of four major ligaments in the knee. There’s the MCL, ACL, PCL, and the lateral or LCL, collateral ligament, and the MCL is on the inside of the knee. It’s a very strong ligament. It can be injured though in certain activities.
