When I got the results of the biopsy, it took about four days to get back, they were inconclusive. And my doctor, the endocrinologist, proceeded to tell me the only way to tell whether this was a thyroid cancer was to remove the right side of the thyroid where I was having the problem to analyze it more closely under the microscope because cancer cells are always present in your body. It’s the way that the cells group together that would make it a cancer. So that’s what they needed to look more closely at that wasn’t a, that cannot be determined from the biopsy.

So you either had what was called a follicular adenoma or a follicular carcinoma, which would be a cancer. So they needed to actually remove the thyroid to determine that.
