Dr. Terris:

Usually there are no symptoms, other than perhaps feeling something in the neck. So one may be able to feel a nodule in the thyroid gland itself that may harbor cancer or spread to the lymph nodes, which is quite common with thyroid cancer. So you may feel a lump in the side of the neck but typically that’s all one may notice. You may not have any other symptoms related to it.
