Justine Simmons
Justine Simmons, star of MTV’s hit reality TV show Run’s House, has
joined her husband, Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, and Novo Nordisk as an
ambassador for the Ask.Screen.Know. campaign. Together, Justine and her
husband are joining forces to encourage American adults to learn about the
risk factors for type 2 diabetes and the importance of being screened early.
As a loving mother and wife, Justine understands the importance of
family and keeping them healthy, now and in the future. Given her and
her husband’s family history with diabetes, she and Rev Run are asking
Americans 45 or older to take control of their family’s health and join them in
learning about the risk of type 2 diabetes at AskScreenKnow.com.
Justine is also an accomplished author, jewelry designer, and philanthropist.
Her children’s book, God Can You Hear Me?, was released in 2007 and has
since graced thousands of readers with its sweet and powerful message of
spiritual guidance. She also co-authored The New York Times bestseller, Take
Back Your Family: How to Raise Respectful and Loving Kids in a Dysfunctional
World, with her husband in 2008.
Currently, Justine also works with the Simmons family charity organization,
Rush Philanthropic, to provide children with an interest in the arts the
resources to pursue their passion.
Justine also volunteers with Safe Horizon, an organization devoted to victims
of abuse and domestic violence, and the Lower Eastside Service Center, a
group that helps at-risk New Yorkers – including pregnant and homeless
women – with substance abuse issues. She recently received The Bright Light
award from First Candle, a national non-profit organization, for being an
inspiration to women who have lost a child less than one year old.
