Traumatic ankle dislocation and fracture Oct 20, 2010. Was a runner and very active, have now been on and off crutches and in different casts for 9 months of the past year. I have AVN in the tibia, multiple unhealed fractures, and rapidly developing arthritis. Dr. wants to do an ankle fusion but I can't accept that I am never going to run again. I am a nurse and have spent a lot of time off work. The emotional and physical pain from this has taken its toll on my entire family.
