Dr. Basim Abdelkarim

Dr. Abdelkarim is a board certified specialist in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He received his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine. He also performed his residency and fellowship at UC Irvine. Dr. Abdelkarim is proficient in all basic GI procedures, and is also experienced in specialized procedures such as capsule endoscopy, Bravo pH probe, and EUS. He has published several articles and given numerous presentations on gastroenterology and hepatology topics.

He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American College of Gastroenterology. As a respected GI specialist, he is a true patient advocate, fighting to provide the right care, even if it takes extra time or persistence. Dr. Abdelkarim is a member of the medical staff at San Antonio Community Hospital.
